Job Summary
The General Construction Helper will assist skilled construction workers and site supervisors in daily building activities. The role requires physical strength, stamina, and a willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Assist masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled workers on-site.
- Load and unload construction materials from trucks or storage.
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete, sand, and cement as directed.
- Carry tools, equipment, and supplies around the construction site.
- Clean work areas, remove debris, and maintain a safe and organized job site.
- Set up scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures under supervision.
- Operate simple site equipment (wheelbarrows, hand tools, trolleys).
- Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Assist in preparing job sites before construction and clean-up after completion.
Qualifications & Requirements
- No formal education required; basic literacy is an advantage.
- Good physical fitness—ability to lift heavy materials, stand, and work long hours.
- Willing to work outdoors under hot conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Prior experience in construction is an added advantage but not mandatory.
- Must be disciplined, hardworking, and safety-conscious.
- Willing to work extended hours and overtime when required.
Working Conditions
- Duty hours: 10–12 hours depending on site requirements.
- Weekly Off: As per company schedule.
- Work environment includes outdoor and indoor construction sites.
- Safety gear provided by the company (helmets, gloves, boots, vests).
- Projects may involve dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
